About Daily XI

Twelve football puzzles. New ones every day. Free, and made by one person.

Last updated 23 September 2026

Daily XI is a set of daily football puzzles. Every day at midnight the site generates a fresh set, the same for everyone, and you get one go at each. There are twelve games and they test different things — squads, transfers, careers, connections between players, and how well you remember when things actually happened.

Where the facts come from

Player statistics, transfer fees and market values come from Transfermarkt. Career histories, appearance records and the events used in Timeline are checked against Wikipedia. Player photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under their respective licences — every one is credited on the photo credits page.

Data is refreshed after each transfer window. Mistakes happen, especially with squad lists and older career records. If you spot one, tell me — corrections from players who know their football are the main reason the data keeps getting better.

Who makes it

One person, in their spare time. There is no company behind Daily XI and no team. It is an unofficial fan project with no connection to any club, league or governing body, and all statistics are presented for entertainment.

If the puzzles have become part of your day, there is a tip jar. Entirely optional, and the games are free either way.
